A Touch of Superhero Inspiration during their Boston Engagement Session
When Maya first inquired about their engagement photos, she mentioned a unique request: they wanted their photos to be inspired by a scene from Avengers: Endgame! Ethan wore a Captain America shirt on their first date, and they wanted to incorporate that memory into their wedding. Check out the scene that inspired their outfits and some of the photo directions, here!
Using this clip as inspiration, we created photos that not only reflected their love for each other but also their shared interests and memories. Their outfits were thoughtfully chosen to echo the scene, adding a playful and personal touch to the vintage and historic ambiance of the Nichols House Museum.
Maya and Ethan’s Love Story
Maya and Ethan’s love story is as charming as the venue itself! They met online during their junior year of university, with a mutual friend in Chi Alpha confirming that they were real people. Maya’s curiosity about Ethan’s love of cartoons and his dreams of working in television sparked their initial connection. Their first date was so engaging that Ethan missed his turn three times while they were deep in conversation.
Despite Maya studying abroad in Asia, they kept in touch via Skype, and their friendship blossomed into a relationship in 2016. Fast forward to 2023, Ethan proposed to Maya at the Renaissance fair, marking the beginning of their next chapter together.
Nichols House Museum Engagement: A Fun and Respectful Photoshoot
Exploring the Nichols House Museum with Maya and Ethan was so much fun! They have a genuine appreciation for history and vintage aesthetics, which made the museum an ideal setting for their city engagement photos. We ensured we respected and protected the space, working closely with the museum staff to adhere to their guidelines.
One of the key aspects of planning an engagement shoot at a historic venue like the Nichols House Museum is managing logistics. I handled the reservations and legal requirements, including providing proof of insurance. This was essential so that Maya and Ethan could focus on enjoying their special day without any added stress. The rental fee for our session was $200 for the hour. We worked outside regular business hours to accommodate the museum’s schedule.
Capturing Their Unique Story
The importance of crafting a session that authentically represents a couple’s story cannot be overstated. By working closely with Maya and Ethan and understanding their personalities and interests, we created a photoshoot that was deeply meaningful and personal. Simply taking photos in a nice park wouldn’t have captured the essence of their relationship as effectively.
When you and your photographer collaborate and truly get to know one another, the session becomes more than just a photoshoot. It transforms into a symbolic representation of your journey together.
